Unboxing

  • "Cut" the printer box's sealing tape with a box cutter and open box.
  • Remove the HP machine and other accessories from the box carefully.

A)Scanning Via Windows HP Software

  • Load the photo/document on the HP M148DW machine’s scanner glass according to the markings made on the platen.
  • Close the scanner cover.
  • Launch the Windows HP software from the Start -> All Programs --> HP folder.
  • The Windows HP Assistant opens in a new window.
  • Ensure that the HP Laserjet Pro MFP M148DW setup is selected.

  • For using Gmail, click the SSL/TLS checkbox to ensure a secure encrypted email transmission.
  • Set the maximum email size.
  • In some cases, an SMTP server will require authentication. In such cases, click the email log-in authentication checkbox and type the User ID and passphrase for it. Click Next.
  • The ‘Configure’ page loads.
  • Ensure that the ‘include sender in all email messages sent out from the printer’ option is selected. (You will be cc’d in all the emails that the printer sends out.)
  • Click ‘Save and Test.’
  • The ‘Congratulations’ message is displayed. Click Finish.
  • You can now use the HP Easy Scan application to send scans directly to an email recipient.
