The Epson WF-7720 sublimation printer is a special type of inkjet printer that uses sublimation ink instead of standard ink cartridges. The sublimation ink is transferred onto the print media. This print media projects the images onto a suitable material at a high temperature and pressure. This forces the pores on the material’s substrate to open and entrap the ink. As the substrate cools, the ink is trapped, and printing is completed. It is called sublimation printing since the water or gel-based ink is converted directly to the gas phase without becoming a liquid as a consequence of the high temperature and pressure. The Epson WorkForce WF-7720 setup can be used to transfer images onto cups, plates, bottles, and much more as long as they have a polymer coating.
