Steps For Epson M200 Setup

Epson M200 is a high performing eco-friendly monochrome printer that has a low running cost. Its copying and printing speed is 34 ppm, which makes it suitable for business purposes. The steps given in this section will assist you to complete the Epson M200 Setup.

Step-1: Unpack the printer

  1. Take out the printer from the carton.
  2. Remove all the packaging tapes and protective materials from the printer.
  3. Look for the other accessories such as power cord, ink bottles, installation CD, and user manual and keep them safe.

Step-2: Fill the ink tank

  1. Slide the ink tank cover to open and then remove the ink tank cap.
  2. Unpack the initial setup bottle.
  3. Remove the bottle tip followed by the bottle cap and unseal the bottle.
  4. Close the bottle with the cap tightly.
  5. Now, insert the ink bottle nozzle into the filling port of the tank.
  6. Fill the tank till the ink level reaches the upper line on the tank.
  7. After filling the ink tank, remove the bottle from the port and seal the bottle tip. 
  8. Close the ink tank.

Step-3: Turn on the printer

  1. Connect the supplied power cord between the printer’s AC inlet and a wall socket.
  2. Press the power button on the control panel to turn on the printer.
  3. Select the language and then follow the other instructions on the printer display to process the Epson M200 Setup.
  4. Hold the OK button for 3 seconds to perform ink charging.
  5. Wait until the ink charging process gets complete.

Step-4: Feed paper in the feeder

  1. Sollow the Epson M200 Setup steps and open the feeder guard forward.
  2. Pull the paper support and its extension.
  3. Draw the output tray and then unfold the paper stopper.
  4. Next, move the edge guide of the paper support to the left end.
  5. Arrange the paper such that the print side is facing outwards and the short edge is going first into the feeder against the right end.
  6. Slide the edge guide towards the paper edge and make sure it is not tight.
  7. Place the feeder guard back.

Step-5: Install the software

  1. Once the printer hardware setup is done, install the printer software on your computer.
  2. The printer software lets you manage and control the printer from your computer.

  1. Download the Epson M200 printer driver from this page.
  2. Otherwise, open a new tab and visit the official Epson website.
  3. Search for the printer model and go to its support page.
  4. Click the Downloads tab and choose Windows 10 from the operating system menu.
  5. Select the Download button of Printer Driver to download the driver.
  6. Open the downloaded driver file to begin the installation.
  7. If the User Account Control dialog box appears, select Yes to continue.
  8. Click Start & Connection and then choose the preferred language.
  9. Read the license agreement and click Agree followed by OK to accept it.
  10. The driver installation progress will appear on the installation wizard.
  11. Wait until the Epson M200 driver setup installation is complete.

  2. Under Downloads, click the Operating System menu and select the Mac version from the drop-down list.
  3. Click the Download button of the required driver package.
  4. After downloading the driver installer file, open it.

  2. Open any browser and visit the official Epson website.
  3. Find the printer’s support page and go to the Manuals and Warranty section.

The Epson M200 does not support wireless network connection. Use the wired network cable (Ethernet) or USB cable to connect the printer and the computer.


  1. Open the scanner unit of your Epson printer and make sure the print head is at the right end. If it is not, turn on the printer and check if the print head moves to the right end.
  2. Turn the printer OFF to remove the power cord connected to it.
  3. Remove the white flat cable, unscrew the print head, and remove the print head.
  4. Unpack the new print head and remove the protective films.
  5. Screw the print head in the original position.
  6. Reconnect the white cable and turn on the printer.
  7. Check if the print head is moving.


  1. Once you run the nozzle check and find the print head nozzles are clogged, you need to clean the print head.
  2. Feed a few sheets in the feeder.
  3. Press the menu icon, then select Maintenance using the navigation keys and then press the OK button.
  4. Next, select the Head Cleaning option.
  5. Start the print head cleaning process with the help of the instructions on the printer LCD.
  6. The power light will begin to blink.
  7. Once the cleaning process stops, again run the nozzle check and verify if the nozzles are cleaned.
  8. In case the print head is not cleaned even after cleaning 4 times, try the power ink flushing utility. 


  1. Epson Ink Maintenance Box is a part of the printer which stores the waste ink or excess ink flushed in the printer system. You can clean it using the following steps. 
  2. Unscrew the maintenance box cover on the printer.
  3. Use a thin narrow object to remove the waste from the box. 
  4. Fix the box on the printer and screw it tightly.


  1. Before you refill the ink tank, check the ink level in the tank.
  2. If the ink level is below the lower line, then proceed further.
  3. Next, remove the ink tank unit cover and the ink tank cap while process the Epson M200 setup.
  4. Unpack the new ink bottle and remove the seal and cap, but do not discard them.
  5. Fill the ink tank until the ink level rises to the upper line.
  6. Take out the bottle and close the bottle with the cap.
  7. Close the ink tank with the cap and refix the ink tank unit cover.

  1. Download and install the scanner driver on your computer.
  2. Connect your computer and the printer using an Ethernet cable or USB cable.
  3. Load the scan document on the scanner glass or in the Automatic Document Feeder.
  4. Now, press the Scan mode button.
  5. Choose any one of the scan options and then select the connection method.
  6. Select your computer and press the OK button to complete the Epson M200 scanner setup.


  1. Make sure the scanner driver is installed on the computer. 
  2. Following that, connect the computer and the printer.
  3. Load the scan document on the scanner glass or in the ADF.
  4. Open the Epson scanning program on the computer.
  5. Choose a Mode and then make the necessary scan settings.
  6. Preview the scanning document and click Scan.
  7. In the File Save Settings window, set PDF as the Type and click OK.
  8. The document will be scanned to your computer.

  1. Check if the printer is turned on. 
  2. Make sure that the Epson printer is not in sleep mode.
  3. Increase the time in the power-off timer settings.
  4. If the network or USB cable ends are loosely connected, tighten them to secure the connection.
  5. Go to the Devices and Printers screen on the Windows computer. Right-click your printer model and disable Use Printer Offline.

  1. If the paper jam occurs in the printer, cancel all the printing jobs.
  2. Remove the jammed paper from the paper feeder and the output tray.
  3. Following that, open the scanner unit.
  4. Find the stuck paper and remove even the small pieces of paper.
  5. Close the scanner unit and press the OK button to continue printing after finishing the Epson M200 setup.
