Complete Canon IP7220 Setup Guidance

Canon IP7220 Setup
  1. Keep the Canon IP7220 box on a flat surface and open it.
  2. Pull the flaps back to access the IP7220 accessories. 
  3. Take the IP7220 CD, USB cable, power cord, and cartridges out of the box.
  4. Peel off the tapes from the Canon IP7220 setup and discard them.
  5. Take the IP7220 printer out of the plastic bag and set it on the table.
  6. Attach the Canon power cord to the IP7220 printer’s Power port and wall outlet.
  7. Power on the IP7220 printer and let it initialize.
  8. Raise the top cover and wait until the print carriage stops at the center of the IP7220 printer.
  9. Unpack a Canon ink cartridge. Remove the protective materials from the ink cartridge.
  10. Install this ink cartridge in its slot. (Match its color label with the label on the ink cartridge slot.)
  1. When the cartridge is installed correctly, its red LED lights up.
  2. Install the other Canon ink cartridges in the same way.
  3. Check whether the LEDs on all the cartridges that have been installed glow red.
  4. Close the top cover.
  5. Small-sized sheets can be loaded in the upper tray, and large sheets can be loaded in the lower tray.
  6. Slide out the lower tray and push the edge width guides outward. Set the A4 stack in it. Secure this stack with the edge width guides. 
  7. Slide the tray back into the Canon IP7220 setup.
  8. Lower the paper output tray and pull out its paper output support.
  9. Install the IP7220 software on your computer to complete the rest of the setup.

Canon IP7220 Driver Installation Guidance

  1. Before installing the Canon IP7220 setup 
  2. Double-click the IP7220 driver installer while being logged into the printer as an administrator.
  3. Make sure that you have a computer connected to a wireless network whose network SSID and passphrase you have made a note of.
  4. Accept the IP7220 driver installer’s license agreement and click the Next button. 
  5. Select the IP7220 software packages to be installed on your computer.
  6. Follow the Canon Pixma IP7220 installer’s on-screen prompts to connect the printer to the computer over a wireless network.

Canon IP7220 Wireless Setup Guide

  1. Power on the Canon IP7220 setup.
  2. After the IP7220 printer initializes, press and hold its Wi-Fi button until the Power LED blinks twice.
  3. Let go of the Wi-Fi button.
  4. Download and install the Canon PRINT app on your smartphone.
  5. Tap the ‘Add Printer’ icon.
  6. Select the ‘Register Printer’ option located at the bottom of the app’s screen.
  7. Open your smartphone’s Wi-Fi menu and connect to the Canon IJ Setup Wi-Fi SSID.
  8. Go back to the Canon PRINT app and tap Printer Setup.
  9. Choose the router option.
  10. Tap OK.
  11. Choose the preferred Wi-Fi network to which you want the IP7220 printer to be connected and enter the passphrase.
  12. The IP7220 printer’s LED glows steadily, indicating that the printer is connected to the wireless network.

How to Change Ink in Canon IP7220?

  1. Power on the IP7220 printer and wait until it initializes.
  2. Raise the top cover to access the ink cartridges.
  3. Wait until the ink cartridge carriage stops moving.
  4. Press the tab in front of the cartridge towards the cartridge. Doing so releases the cartridge from its slot. 
  5. Take the cartridge out and set it aside.
  6. Unpack the new Canon ink cartridge and remove the protective materials from it.
  7. Set the cartridge in its slot and press down on it until it snaps into place.
  8. The cartridge’s LED glows red when the cartridge is installed correctly.
  9. Replace the other ink cartridges in the same way.
  10. Close the ink cartridge access door.

How to Load Paper in Canon IP7220?

  1. The Canon IP7220 setup has two print trays. Smaller paper can be loaded in the upper tray, and larger paper can be loaded in the lower tray.
  2. You can lower the front tray and load disks.
  3. If you need to load A4 paper, use the lower tray. Any paper smaller than A4 paper can be loaded in the upper tray.
  4. Slide the upper or lower tray out slowly.
  5. Push the edge guides to the far end of the tray.
  6. Load the paper in the upper/lower tray and then push the edge guides toward the paper stack to secure it.
  7. Push the upper or lower tray back into the IP7220 printer.

How to Scan on a Canon IP7220?

  1. Turn on the Canon IP7220 setup and let it initialize.
  2. Raise its top cover and place the original document on the platen.
  3. Make sure that you keep the original document aligned with the marking on the platen.
  4. Lower the scanner cover.
  5. On your computer, go to the Start MenuAll ProgramsCanonCanon IJ Scan Utility.
  6. When the IJ Scan Utility loads, set the scanning preferences after clicking the Settings button. 
  7. Save the settings and return to the IJ Scan Utility dashboard.
  8. Click the option that is suitable for the document placed on the platen.
  9. The document is scanned and saved to the location that you set.

Canon IP7220 Error Code B200 Solution

  1. The IP7220 error code B200 appears when there is a problem with the printhead.
  2. Power on the IP7220 printer.
  3. Print a nozzle check pattern and run printhead cleaning. Check whether the B200 error is fixed.
  4. Raise the top cover and let the ink cartridge carriage come to a stop.
  5. Release all the ink cartridges from the printer cartridge carriage. Pull the color-coded bar towards you until you hear a click and then remove the printhead from the printer.
  6. Clean the printhead gently by using a clean cloth dipped in alcohol while taking care not to break any components.
  7. Reinstall the printhead in the IP7220 printer and check whether the issue is resolved.
Canon IP7220 Error Code B200 Solution
  1. If not, take the printhead out and cover 4 of its electrical contact pins with tape. Reinstall the printhead and check whether the issue is resolved. If the issue persists, keep changing the four pins that you set the tape over and reinstall the printhead until the error message no longer appears. When you set the tape over a certain set of 4 pins, the issue should be resolved.

Fixed: Canon IP7220 not Printing Black Issue

  1. Power on the Canon IP7220 setup.
  2. Raise the top lid and check the black ink level.
  3. If the black ink tank is low on ink, replace it.
  4. Run a printhead cleaning cycle and check whether the black printing issue is resolved.
  5. Clean the black ink tank’s nozzle and the nozzle on the printhead.

How to Remove Printhead from Canon IP7220?

  1. Turn on the IP7220 printer.
  2. Flip open the IP7220 machine’s top cover and wait until the ink cartridge carriage stops moving.
  3. Remove all the ink tanks.
  4. Pull the color-coded strip towards you until it clicks into place.
  5. Remove the printhead from the IP7220 printer.
  6. Return the color-coded strip to its original position.
  7. Close the top cover.

How to Reset Canon IP7220?

  1. Check whether the Canon Pixma IP7220 setup is powered on.
  2. If it is off, power it on and wait until the machine initializes.
