Canon G3000 Printer Setup

Unpacking the Canon Pixma G3000

  1. Take the G3000 printer out of the box.
  2. Peel off the orange tapes and discard them.
  3. Raise the Canon Pixma G3000 setup’s top cover, remove the orange tape and protective material.
  4. Raise the G3000 machine’s cartridge locking cover.

Install the Ink Cartridges

  • Take the new G3000 ink cartridges out of the packaging.
  • Remove the orange tape from the new ink cartridges.
  • Install the Canon color cartridge in the slot marked ‘C’ and the black cartridge in the slot marked ‘B.’
  • Push the cartridge locking cover down until you hear a click.
  • Press the top of the elliptical black and color cartridge cover heads until they lock in place.

Pour the ink

  • Raise the G3000 printer’s black ink tank cover.
  • Grab the black ink cap firmly and pull to remove it.
  • Place it in the ink cap holder at the top.
  • Take the black ink bottle out of the box.
  • Hold it upright and twist the cap anti-clockwise to open it.
  • Carefully pour the black ink into the ink tank’s inlet.
  • Gradually position the ink bottle upside down into the ink tank’s inlet.
  • Make sure that the ink does not exceed the upper limit line marked on the tank.
  • Remove the black ink bottle and close it. Close the black ink tank with the cap that you removed earlier.
  • Lower the ink tank cover.
  • Raise the color ink tank cover and pour the cyan, magenta, and yellow ink in the same way.
  • Lower the color ink tank cover.
  • Close the Canon Pixma G3000 setup’s top lid.

Powering on the Canon G3000

  • Locate the Canon G3000 printer’s rear Power port.
  • Attach the power cable to it and the wall electrical outlet.
  • The G3000 printer’s ON LED blinks.
  • After a few moments, the ON LED glows steadily.
  • Press and hold the Stop(downward-pointing red arrow) button for about five seconds until the ON LED starts to blink. 
  • The ON LED stops blinking and glows steadily after a while.
  • This completes the G3000 setup.

Loading the paper

  • Raise the G3000 printer’s paper input tray located at the top.
  • Pull out the Canon G3000’s paper output tray and its extension.
  • Push the right paper width guide to the end. Load the A4 paper stack.
  • Adjust the Canon Pixma G3000 setup paper width guides to secure the A4 paper stack.

Guide: Install Canon Pixma G3000 Driver

  • Right-click the G3000 driver installer file that you downloaded.
  • Choose the ‘Run as administrator’ option from the list and click ‘Run’ when the dialog box appears.
  • Select the region and click Next.
  • Click the ‘Wireless LAN connection’ radio button and click Next.
  • If the ‘printer could not be detected’ message appears, click the ‘Set up the network connection via USB’ checkbox and click Next.
  • The G3000 printer installer prompts you to connect the printer and computer by using a USB cable.
  • Click ‘Skip obtaining driver software from Windows Update.’
  • The ‘Confirm Connection Wireless Router’ prompt appears. Click Yes if the correct router is displayed.
  • Enter the Canon Pixma G3000 setup’s serial number in the admin password field and then click OK.
  • After the connection is established, the ‘Disconnect the USB cable’ prompt appears. Detach the USB cable and click Next.

Canon G3000 Wi-fi Setup

  1. Power on the Canon Pixma G3000 setup.
  2. Wait until the Canon G3000 initializes.
  3. Press the G3000 printer’s Wi-Fi button(antenna icon) and hold it until the ON LED blinks.
  4. Touch the Color button and then press the Wi-Fi button again.
  5. Now, touch the Black button and then press the Wi-Fi button.
  6. The G3000 printer’s ON LED glows steadily, and the Wi-Fi LED blinks.
  7. Press the WPS button your router and hold it.

How to Connect Canon G3000 Printer to Laptop?

  1. Download the G3000 printer driver on your laptop computer from the manufacturer’s site.
  2. Ensure that the Laptop computer is connected to the router to which you are going to connect the G3000 printer.
  3. Run the G3000 driver installer on your laptop computer as an administrator and perform the actions shown on the screen.
  4. When the ‘Connection Method’ screen appears, choose the Wireless LAN Connection option and click Next.
  5. Click the ‘Connect via wireless router’ radio button and click Next.
  6. Click Next, select your Canon Pixma G3000 setup from the list, and click Next.

  1. Insert the G3000 printer CD into your computer and run the installer.
  2. Ensure that your laptop/desktop PC is connected to the Wi-Fi router to which the G3000 printer is going to be connected.

  5. The Wi-Fi LED starts blinking on the G3000 printer.
  6. Swipe down the smartphone screen from the top to view the Wi-Fi switch.

  9. Enter the G3000 printer’s serial code as the password and tap Connect.

  • Set the original document on the G3000 printer’s platen.
  • Make sure that you align it with the arrow mark on the edge of the platen. Close the scanner cover.
  • Launch the IJ Scan Utility application on your computer.
  • The Canon IJ Scan Utility dashboard appears.
  • Click ‘Settings’ and customize your scan settings. Save these settings.
  • Return to the IJ SScan Utility dashboard and click ‘Document.’

Canon Pixma G3000 Error Code 5200 Solution

The error code 5200 means that this is an internal printer error related to the ink tanks.

  • Power off the G3000 printer, detach the power cable and let the machine cool down for 10 minutes.
  • Connect the G3000 printer’s power cable to the wall electrical outlet again. 
  • Power on the G3000 printer.
  • Ensure that there is sufficient ink in the G3000 printer’s ink tanks.
  • Go to the G3000 printer’s control panel.
  • Press the Stop button(downward-pointing red arrow) and keep holding it until you see the Alarm(triangle icon) LED flash five times.
  • Let go of the Stop button.

Canon Pixma G3000 Error Code B204 Solution

A machine error has caused an internal machine issue.

  • Follow these steps to resolve it.
  • Power off the G3000 printer and detach the power cable.
  • Take the machine to a Canon service center for repair.
  • Ensure that the ink tank caps are closed correctly.
  • Close all the lids with tape when transporting the machine for repair. Attach the styrofoam packing material to the Canon Pixma G3000 setup before placing the machine in the box.

Canon Pixma G3000 Error Code 1471 Solution

The error code 1471 means that the cartridge that was installed is not recognized.

  • Remove the cartridge, wipe the electrical contacts with a dry lint-free cloth, and install it.
  • If you had placed an incompatible cartridge, remove it and replace it with a compatible cartridge.

Canon Pixma G3000 Error Code 5B00 Solution

  • The error code 5b00 means that it is a printer error.
  • Since this is a G3000 internal printer error, you need to get the Canon Pixma G3000 setup repaired by the agents at a Canon service center.

How to Reset Canon Pixma G3000 Printer?

  • Power on the G3000 printer and wait until it initializes.
  • Press the Power and Stop buttons and keep holding them for about three seconds.
  • Without letting go of the Power button, lift the other finger and tap the Stop button five times.
  • Let go of both the Power and Stop buttons.

  • Check whether the G3000 printer is turned on.

  • If the LED is off, press the Wi-Fi button and hold it until the ON LED blinks.
  • Press the Color, Black, and Wi-Fi buttons in this sequence.
  • The ON LED glows steadily, indicating that the wireless connection is established.
  • If you had chosen to use the temporary USB connection, ensure that the USB cable is connected correctly.
  • Right-click the Canon Pixma G3000 setup in the Devices menu.
  • Navigate to Properties and click the Ports tab.
  • Ensure that the ‘Enable bidirectional support’ option is enabled.
  • Remove microwave interference causing devices between the router and Canon printer.
  • Disable IPv6 and enable IPv4 by following these steps.
  • But, before that, load paper in the G3000 machine.
  • Press the Wi-Fi button and continue holding it until the ON LED blinks.
  • Let go of the Wi-Fi button and tap it once.
  • The G3000 network settings information page is printed.
  • Locate the TCP/IPv6 section (below Default Gateway and above Link Local Address).
  • If the status reads Enable, continue with the steps given below.
  • Navigate to the Canon Pixma G3000 setup’s control panel again.
  • Press the Stop button and continue holding it until the Alarm(triangle icon) LED blinks ‘26’ times. 
  • Now, IPv6 is disabled, and IPv4 is enabled.
  • If the Wi-Fi issue persists, uninstall the G3000 printer driver and reinstall it.
