  • A compatible USB cable to connect the Epson printer and computer.
  • The Epson printer’s recovery firmware.
  • The Epson printer.

How do I Downgrade the Firmware?

  • First, you need to search for your Epson printer’s recovery firmware(firmware update tool) by using a search engine like Google or Bing.
  • At your discretion, go to a trusted site and download the Epson printer’s recovery firmware.
  • Connect the Epson printer and computer with a USB cable.
  • Power off the Epson printer.
  • Press and hold the Power, left arrow, and Home buttons on the Epson machine’s control panel.
  • The Epson Firmware Update Mode message appears on the screen.
  • Run the Epson firmware update tool as an administrator.
  • The firmware updater’s dashboard appears.
  • Click Next.
  • Select the ‘Agree’ option and then click Next.
  • Read the tips shown on the screen. Click Next, as these actions have already been performed.
  • Click the Start button after ensuring that the entry on the screen has its checkbox selected.
  • The firmware updater displays a prompt asking you if you want to proceed with the firmware update. Click Yes.
  • The Epson printer’s LCD shows a message that says that the firmware update is complete.
  • Press OK and then power off the Epson printer.
  • Now raise the Epson machine’s scanner assembly.
  • Install the 3rd party ink cartridges in the Epson printer.
  • After ensuring that the cartridges have been installed correctly, close the scanner assembly.
